WEST DES MOINES, Iowa--Chris Christie came to Iowa on Friday, not as a 2012 presidential candidate, as many Republicans in a state had hoped, though as Mitt Romney's many high-profile broker in a final days before Tuesday's first-in-the-nation caucuses.
