Well value reading
By John Brooks
The Secret Adversary introduces Agatha Christie's characters of Tommy and Tuppence, an out of work immature male and lady who confirm to turn "adventurers" out of a miss of anything improved to do. They utterly incidentally get sucked into an general poser that reaches to a top levels of British government.
This story takes place shortly after WWI, and there are a few problematic terms -- even to my British colleague -- though they don't impede a delight of a story. It is engaging to see attitudes and philosophies of early 20th English perspective.
It's Agatha Christie, one of a best-selling authors of a 20th century, so we can design good work. The characters are well-written, a story is utterly gripping, and a finale is gratifying (if a tad predictable). This done me wish to examination some-more Christie and some-more Tommy & Tuppence.
A small spirit if we wish it: Pay courtesy to a telegrams.

A Serendipitous Read
By Motley Wisdom
I have not been a large fan of a Tommy and Tuppence episodes on PBS' Agatha Christie series; however, this is a surprisingly well-written thriller even for Agatha Christie. The tract is convoluted, in a good way, and a discourse believable. we missed a symbol totally in identifying a villain. Tommy and Tuppence are a good mangle from Miss Marple and M. Poirot, and we suggest a book for anyone who enjoys Agatha Christie's style.

Crime before technology
By J
I've recently turn dependant to crime shows and books. In a age of "24" and CSI and all these hyper-tech worlds, there's a newness in going behind to a 1920s when people left telegrams and couldn't lane a bad man on satellite-powered trade cameras.
