Cops: Pharmacy robber, fed agent shot dead in NY

NEW YORK (AP) â€" An off-duty sovereign law coercion representative responding to an armed spoliation during a pharmacy on Long Island was fatally shot along with a heist suspect, who had taken income and painkillers from a store before he was killed Saturday.

The off-duty Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives representative died after being taken to a sanatorium with a gunshot wound, Nassau County police Lt. Kevin Smith said.

The ATF identified a depressed representative as 51-year-old John Capano, a 23-year maestro of a agency, who lived in Massapequa and was married with dual children.

Smith pronounced it was not immediately transparent who shot a ATF agent, or how or because a off-duty officer and late officer arrived during a plcae during about a same time.

Police declined to contend what kind of arms a spoliation think was carrying.

The ATF representative was taken to Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, where he died. The NYPD officer and late military officer also were taken to a sanatorium to be treated for trauma.

In May, a New York Police Department officer shot and killed an off-duty co-worker who was carrying a gun while chasing a suspected automobile burglar in East Harlem.

In 2008, Westchester County military officers killed an off-duty officer from a New York suburb of Mount Vernon, N.Y. as he was inserted in a fight.
